Introductory Shoulder Ultrasound

This one-day course is aimed at rheumatologists, orthopaedic surgeons, sports medicine clinicians, therapists and other clinicians with an interest in shoulder ultrasound scanning.  It is aimed at those who have no or little experience of shoulder ultrasound scanning.

The invited faculty includes experts from the fields of orthopaedic surgery, physiotherapy, sports medicine and radiology, all experienced in shoulder ultrasound.  

The course will incorporate lectures and hands-on skills sessions. Participants will gain an overview of the basics of ultrasound and its application in shoulder disorders and injury. Identification of both normal and pathological lesions will be covered, clinical relevance and the role of office ultrasound and ultrasound guided injections of the shoulder.

Participants are limited to 20 with 5 ultrasound systems available to allow intensive training.

This course has been awarded 5 Category 1 CPD Points from the Royal College of Radiologists.
