This one-day course is aimed at rheumatologists, orthopaedic surgeons, sports medicine specialists, physiotherapists or other interested parties practicing in musculoskeletal disease who have little or no experience of musculoskeletal ultrasound and who wish to obtain an introduction in musculoskeletal ultrasound skills.
Participants will be taught an overview of the technology and application of ultrasound imaging in musculoskeletal disease and how to perform ultrasound examination of the hand and knee. A wide range of musculoskeletal ultrasound pathology encountered in routine clinical practice will be presented. An overview of basic injection techniques will be followed by a practical session on ultrasound guided injection. The emphasis will be on obtaining an introduction to the basic practical skills.
Participants are limited to 12 with 3 ultrasound systems available to allow intensive training.
This course has 5 RCR Category 1 CPD Credits Awarded.
