Corné Swart - SonoSite Clinical Applications Specialist - Midlands and North London Region
Corne graduated in 2006 from the Central University of Technology in South Africa where he studied Clinical Technology, specialising in cardiac physiology. Corne completed his clinical training at the Military Hospital in Pretoria, South Africa, where he performed diagnostic cardiac examinations in the Cardiology Department.
Thereafter Corne took a sales position with SSEM (SonoSite’s distributor in South Africa) selling mostly consumable products into the Anaesthetic market. Corne joined SonoSite in June 2007 as Clinical Applications Specialist for the South East England region.

Shaun spent the first part of his Naval career as an Air Engineering Artificer specialising in Communication, Radar, Sonar, Avionics and Weapon systems working on various types of Aircraft ashore and afloat.
In 2006 he qualified as a Military Radiographer and within a short period of time undertook his first Deployment as one of two radiographers working in a busy Field Hospital in Afghanistan, undertaking all elements of Trauma Radiography and CT. He then returned to Haslar Hospital which allowed him to obtain a PgC in Medical Ultrasound at Portsmouth University in 2008.
Not long after qualifying in Ultrasound he deployed again to Afghanistan, working in the Field hospital undertaking trauma radiography and CT and using his new ultrasound skills in a trauma environment, particularly developing his FAST skills in a busy Resuscitation environment.
Shaun recently retired from the Royal Navy and finished his Military Career at MDHU (Portsmouth) where he worked in Radiology undertaking all elements of radiography and CT as well as ultrasound. He is currently completing his Diploma in Ultrasound at Portsmouth University which should be completed in June 2010, covering Vascular and Gynaecological Ultrasound.
Shaun’s areas of interest in ultrasound are Vascular and MSK, developing the role of portable ultrasound within a hospital environment, FAST scanning and he has also guest lectured at Portsmouth University in FAST scanning.
Outside work he walks his three dogs, windsurfs, sails and is an Advanced Indoor Cycling spin instructor / coach. He takes fitness classes at his local Gym when work permits and is working towards being a Master level spin instructor.
