College of Emergency Medicine approved Level 1 EMED Ultrasound

This one-day College of Emergency Medicine approved Level 1 Emergency Ultrasound course is a mixture of practical small group teaching and short didactic sessions linked with demonstrations.  The key issues including – how to introduce ultrasound to a department and its role in vascular access, trauma and abdominal aortic aneurysm will be dealt with.  

The course is ideal for the novice or department head who is considering how to get ultrasound up and running within their department.  

Course fee includes book on Ultrasound in emergency settings.

Participants are limited to 20, with 5 ultrasound machines available to allow intensive training in ultrasound techniques and US guided needle placement of in-vitro models.  

This course is approved by the College of Emergency Medicine for 6 CPD Credits

  • How to generate and optimize an image
  • Vascular access and NICE
  • FAST and trauma
  • Abdominal aortic aneurysm assessment
  • How to introduce and maintain quality
  • Practical hands-on sessions: Generating an image / Normal anatomy / FAST / AAA
