This two-day course is organised by Regional Anaesthesia UK – RAUK (formerly ESRA UK & Ireland) the official UK national regional anaesthesia society affiliated to ESRA, in conjunction with Sonosite Ltd for training in ultrasound guided regional anaesthetic techniques.  

PLEASE NOTE:  ESRA Diploma - for further clarification the Ultrasound Courses for 2010 organised by RAUK and sponsored by Sonosite are approved/accredited for the ESRA diploma. They do not count as a cadaver course only as another course to fulfill the recommendations. An RAUK specific cadaver course will be held in December 2010 in Oxford.

This practical course is aimed at anaesthetists wishing to improve their skills in UGRA and comprises of didactic lectures covering all commonly used regional techniques clinical and cadaveric anatomy demonstrations and practical hands-on workshops.

Pre-course questionnaire will be sent 2 – 3 weeks prior to the course.

Participants are limited to 24, with 6 ultrasound machines available to allow intensive training in ultrasound techniques and US guided needle placement of in-vitro models.  

This course has been accredited by the Royal College of Anaesthetists for 10 CPD points and is is also recognised for the ESRA diploma.

Registration Fee: £450.00, includes VAT, refreshments, lunch plus a copy of ‘Ultrasound Guidance for Nerve Blocks: Principles and Practical Implementation’ by Prof Peter Marhofer.
